INTERFEROMETRY ON MAGNETIC TABLE

Educational content :
- Michelson
- Mach-Zehnder
- optical path
- Interferences by amplitude division
The main set permits the observation and study of the functioning principle of a Michelson’s interferometer by means of an assembly on magnetic tables. The experimental procedure is simple.
The additional Mach-Zehnder set permits the study of another type of interferometer and gives other measurement possibilities.
The additional measurement option includes an empty tank and a thin plate kit.

APPLICATIONS OF A MICHELSON'S INTERFEROMETER

Educational content :
- Determination of the index of air
- Plate thickness measurement
- Piezoelectric study
The following set is designed to carry out some of the several applications of a Michelson Interferometer. You will be able to measure the refraction index of air, of CO2, of a glass plate. Knowing the glass plate index, you can also determine very precisely its thickness. At last, you can determine the exact behavior of a piezoelectric system according to the input voltage submitted.

STUDY OF A MICHELSON'S INTERFEROMETER

Educational content :
- adjustments
- interferences
- parallel and circular fringes
- coherence of different sources
The following set will allow you to adjust and setup your interferometer from the beginning to the visualization of white light interferences. In the way for the perfect setup, you can learn about interferences, wavelength, phase, virtual light source, velocity of light, spatial and time coherence, spectral lines and coherence conditions.
The setup and visualization of interference figures is done with lasers, spectral sources and white light sources. Those three types of sources have very different coherence length and spectrum and will allow you to truly understand those notions.

DYNAMIC INTERFEROMETRY SET

Educational content :
- Coherence
- Spectrometry by Fourier transform
- Anti-coincidence of the Sodium Doublet
This set uses a motorized Michelson interferometer and a photo-detector in order to carry out more advanced experiments such as Fourier transform spectrometry, study of anti-coincidence of the sodium doublet, measurement of the bandwidth of an interferential filter.
The motorization system provides great translation regularity and is equipped with a very simple coupling clutch system to activate or disable the motorization.
With a datalogging system (optional), you can analyze your results precisely on your computer.
